Snæfellsbær

Snæfellsbær is a municipality located in western Iceland, in the southwestern part of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula Snæfellsbær was established with the merging of three municipalities in 1994, the villages of Ólafsvík, Hellissandur and Rif. The majority of inhabitants live in Ólafsvík.

A small museum by the name of Pakkhúsið, can be found in a black building in the center of Ólafsvík with a souvenir shop and an information center for visitors.

The Maritime Museum is within walking distance and further information is available at the information center.
