Horse Rental

Litlahorn offers a horse rental service overseen by one of the owners, a skilled horse breeder with a passion for the family’s horses. Guests can take a riding tour along black sand beaches close to Höfn. The groups are small (2-5 people) and the 2.5 hour tour offers stunning views while riding a good-natured stocky Icelandic horse, a unique breed. Litlahorn also breeds horses and sells them to customers around the world.

Stones and materials for sale

Litlahorn provides unique materials for sale from its land. The company utilizes its Stokksnes beach mine, which consists of material that has been carried by the glacier river Hornafjarðarfljót from the Vatnajökull glacier into the sea, where the harshet east coast sea waves has tumbled and smoothed the materials for thousands of years before returning it to shore. The stones and sand are used for stone carpets, bathstones, house sheathing and for asphalt and roads.
