So gro\u00df war die Auswirkung, die diese Neuheit auf den kleine Ort H\u00fasav\u00edk \u2013 die H\u00e4userbucht \u2013 hatte. Diese wurde so zur Hauptstadt f\u00fcr Walbeobachtungen auf Island und sogar Europa, und durchaus weltweit f\u00fchrend im Verstehen der Wale. Das alte Eichenboot, welches vor der Zerschlagung gerettet wurde, war eine sofortiger Attraktion unter Walbeobachtern aus der ganzen Welt. North Sailing betreibt mittlerweile acht alte isl\u00e4ndische Eichenboote, und au\u00dferdem ein D\u00e4nisches und ein Deutsches Boot. H\u00fasav\u00edk ist der einzige Ort auf Island wo man Walbeobachtungsboote findet, die ausschlie\u00dflich mit \u00d6koenergie betrieben werden, was einen nachhaltigen Tourismus m\u00f6glich macht. Tats\u00e4chlich ist der Vorsatz von North Sailing Wale zu sch\u00fctzen, als auch die Ozeane zu schonen und das nationale Erbe der alten Isl\u00e4ndischen Fischereiboote aus Holz zu bewahren. Es ist ein einmaliges Erlebnis den Buckelwal hochspringen zu sehen, eine Erfahrung, die man so schnell nicht vergisst. Orcas sind wie der Grindwal eher seltene Besucher bei H\u00fasav\u00edk. Doch wenn sie in Skj\u00e1lfandi ankommen, dann erscheinen sie meist in gro\u00dfer Anzahl und schwimmen durch die Bucht. Mehr als 200.000 leben auf dieser Insel, die aus einer sehr steilen Klippe besteht, ideal f\u00fcr diese unverwechselbare Vogelart um zu br\u00fcten. Flatey \u2013 die flache Insel -, die sich im Westen befindet, ist reich an Vogelleben mit \u00fcber 30 verschiedenen Vogelarten, einschlie\u00dflich der tauchenden Arktischen Seeschwalbe und der einmaliger Golfplatz mit dem Polarkreis im Horizont, ein weltweit f\u00fchrendes Walmuseum und die au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnlichen GeoSea B\u00e4dern mit Blick auf die Bucht, wo die Besucher die Boote auf
