Mit dieser neuen Erkenntnis ausgestattet sollte man es in Betracht ziehen dieses gem\u00fctliche \u00d6rtchen, welches schon seit dem Jahre 1186 bestand hat, zu besuchen. Klaustur verf\u00fcgt \u00fcber eine interessante Geschichte, Geologie und Volkssagen, und ist ein beliebter Haltepunkt auf der s\u00fcdlichen Hauptstra\u00dfe. Das Wasser wurde auf nat\u00fcrliche Weise durch Lavafelder in der N\u00e4he des Vatnaj\u00f6kull Gletschers gefiltert. Wunderbare Wanderungen und Tagestouren zu Orten wie der Schlucht Fja\u00f0r\u00e1rglj\u00fafur und den Lakikrater liegen in der N\u00e4he.
