Die Br\u00fccke \u00fcber der Hv\u00edt\u00e1, die auf der Stra\u00dfe 510 nahe Ferjubakki in Borgarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur steht, wurde von \u00c1rni P\u00e1lsson entworfen, einem Ingenieur der isl\u00e4ndischen Stra\u00dfenverwaltung. Die Br\u00fccke, die einspurig und 106 Meter lang ist, wurde vom Isl\u00e4ndischen Ingenieursverband als einer der gro\u00dfen Ingenieursleistungen des letzten Jahrhunderts in Island ausgew\u00e4hlt.
