Die Leif-Statue ist ein Geschenk der Amerikaner anl\u00e4sslich des 1000. Jahrestags von Al\u00feingi im Jahre 1930. Der Bildhauer war Alexander Stirling Calder, der einen Wettbewerb gewann, um 1929 eine Statue von Leif dem Gl\u00fccklichen zu schaffen.
