Messungen, die das Institut seit den letzten zehn Tagen durchf\u00fchrt, zeigen, dass der Lavastrom bei 10,4 Kubikmetern pro Sekunde liegt. Damit \u00e4hnelt er stark dem Lavastrom aus dem Ausbruch im letzten Jahr in den gleichen Regionen. Ein Drittel der Lava str\u00f6mte in den ersten Tagen nach dem Ausbruch. Das nun von der Lava bedeckte Gebiet hat ungef\u00e4hr die Gr\u00f6\u00dfe des Hyde Parks in London und fast ein Drittel der Gr\u00f6\u00dfe des Central Parks in New York.
