Der Sommer, in dem Island und China die gleiche Naturkatastrophe ereilte.<\/strong><\/h5>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Es gab eine enorme\/schreckliche Naturkatastrophe, die die Menschen in Island, China und vielen anderen L\u00e4ndern gemeinsam erlebten und die am Ende zahlreiche Opfer forderte. Diese Katastrophe ereignete sich im Sommer 1783 und ihre Folgen waren noch \u00fcber Monate und sogar Jahre sp\u00fcrbar. Bis 1786 hatten auf der Nordhalbkugel sechs Millionen Menschen ihr Leben verloren, davon eine Million in Japan, Unz\u00e4hlige in China und Millionen in ganz Europa und Nordamerika. Ein F\u00fcnftel der isl\u00e4ndischen Bev\u00f6lkerung starb bei dieser Naturkatastrophe.<\/p>\n

Alles begann am 08. Juni 1783 im S\u00fcden Islands. Es war ein wundersch\u00f6ner Tag, der Himmel wolkenlos. Priester J\u00f3n Steingr\u00edmsson schrieb in sein Tagebuch: \u201eEine schwarze Wand stieg in den Bergen im Norden auf und innerhalb kurzer Zeit umh\u00fcllte sie uns in unseren Bauernh\u00f6fen. In den H\u00e4usern wurde es stockfinster und drau\u00dfen konnte man kaum atmen.\u201c In weniger als einer Woche taten sich gewaltige Spalten mit sprudelndem, explodierendem fl\u00fcssigem Gestein auf, die eine Gesamtl\u00e4nge von 27 Kilometern und 135 Krater aufwiesen. So entstand die historisch gr\u00f6\u00dfte zusammenh\u00e4ngende Lava auf der Erde.<\/p>\n

Tageb\u00fccher, Annalen und Nachrichten aus der gesamten Region beschrieben damals eindeutig, was in der Natur passierte und wie sich das Wetter ver\u00e4nderte. Am 10. Juni erreichte die Aschewolke Norwegen, Schottland und die Far\u00f6er Inseln, am 22. England und am 24. Juni erstreckte sich der graue Nebel \u00fcber ganz Europa bis zum Osten der Adria. Im Juli erreichte er Russland, Sibirien und China. Aus Indien und der Jangtse-Region wurde eine schwere D\u00fcrre berichtet und in China war der Sommer 1783 insgesamt extrem kalt.<\/p>\n

Der Nebel beeintr\u00e4chtigte in den folgenden Wochen auch Syrien und \u00c4gypten stark. Da er die Monsunzyklen durcheinanderbrachte, ging das Regenwasser, das in den Nil floss, um fast
\n20 % zur\u00fcck. Daraufhin blieben Ernten aus, eine Hungersnot entstand. In einer Quelle hei\u00dft es: \u201eBis Januar 1785 war ein Sechstel der \u00e4gyptischen Bev\u00f6lkerung entweder gestorben oder geflohen.\u201c

\nIm Osten der USA war der folgende Winter im Vergleich zur Durchschnittstemperatur 5 \u00b0C k\u00e4lter. In Charleston in South Carolina, wo heute der Verkehr schon beim geringsten Schneefall zum Erliegen kommt, fror der Hafen so stark ein, dass man darauf Schlittschuh laufen konnte. Eisschollen schwammen den Mississippi hinunter bis zum Golf von Mexiko. In New Orleans fror der Fluss zu.
\n\"1.Auf ihrem H\u00f6hepunkt bedeckte die Aschewolke ein Viertel der Erdoberfl\u00e4che, die gesamte Nordhalbkugel n\u00f6rdlich des 30. Breitengrads. In einem spiralf\u00f6rmigen Muster wurde sie auf die Erdoberfl\u00e4che gedr\u00fcckt und hatte noch mindestens zwei Jahre lang tiefgreifende Auswirkungen auf die Umwelt und das Wetter. Dort, wo der Nebel in Europa und in anderen Regionen anhielt, fielen in den f\u00fcnf Monaten nach dem Ausbruch bis zu 1000 kg Schwefels\u00e4ure (H2<\/sub>SO4<\/sub>) auf jeden Quadratkilometer.<\/p>\n

Diese Ereignisse wirkten sich noch jahrelang auf die Ernten aus. Die daraus folgenden Hungersn\u00f6te f\u00fchrten unter den Menschen zu Aufruhr und Unruhen. In Frankreich starb mehr als eine Million Menschen. Es ist eine weithin anerkannte Theorie, dass die Franz\u00f6sische Revolution ihre Wurzeln in den Nachwirkungen des Laki-Ausbruchs hat.<\/p>\n
