Am Anfang zeigte es alte Gegenst\u00e4nde aus der alten Landwirtschaft, mit Schwerpunkt auf Landwirtschaft, Handel und Fischerei bis zur Mechanisierung. Dieser Schwerpunkt hat sich im Laufe dieser 70 Jahre nat\u00fcrlich ver\u00e4ndert. Heute geht es mehr um den Alltag und Haushalt bis zur Mitte des letzten Jahrhunderts. Die erste Heimat des Museums war Selfoss. Es zog 1995 jedoch nach Eyrarbakki um. \u201eH\u00fasi\u00f0 \u00e1 Eyrarbakki, das \u00e4lteste Haus in S\u00fcdisland, wurde 1765 gebaut und ist unser gr\u00f6\u00dfter Schatz\u201c, erkl\u00e4rt L\u00fd\u00f0ur P\u00e1lsson, Historiker und Museumsdirektor seit 30 Jahren. \u201eDiese wundersch\u00f6nen und einzigartigen Geb\u00e4ude sollten so bewundert werden, wie sie sind, in der Tat als Ausstellungsst\u00fccke. Deshalb liegt ein besonderer Schwerpunkt auf der Geschichte des H\u00fasi\u00f0 \u2013 \u201eDas Haus\u201c \u2013 und seine kulturelle Bedeutung in den letzten Jahrhunderten.\u201c<br \/>\nAls der H\u00e4ndler Jens Lassen \u201eDas Haus\u201c 1765 gebaut hat, war Eyrarbakki wom\u00f6glich der gr\u00f6\u00dfte Handelsplatz in Island. Das war gegen Ende des d\u00e4nisch-isl\u00e4ndischen Handelsmonopols, das von 1602 bis 1787 dauerte. In dieser Zeit durften die B\u00fcrger des Landes nicht mit anderen H\u00e4ndlern oder fremden Schiffen handeln. Zu der Zeit schien es, als w\u00fcrde Eyrarbakki zur Hauptstadt von Island erkl\u00e4rt, da es sehr viel mehr Einwohner hatte als Reykjav\u00edk.<br \/>\nZwei weitere Museen in Eyrarbakki geh\u00f6ren zum \u00c1rness\u00fdsla Heimatmuseum. Das Schifffahrtsmuseum, da Eyrarbakki im Laufe der Jahrhunderte einer der gr\u00f6\u00dften Handelsh\u00e4fen des Landes war, und Kirkjub\u00e6r, ein isl\u00e4ndisches Privathaus, das 1920 gebaut wurde und in dem wir ein paar hundert Jahre zur\u00fcckgehen und sehen, wie gew\u00f6hnliche Menschen gelebt haben. Die Fr\u00fchlingsausstellung, die bis Juni ge\u00f6ffnet hat, konzentriert sich auf die Kindheit von \u00c1sgr\u00edmur J\u00f3nsson, der in einer kleinen H\u00fctte armer Bauern im Jahr 1876 in \u00c1rness\u00fdsla geboren wurde. Ab dem Konfirmationsalter half er im H\u00fasi\u00f0 in Eyrarbakki tatkr\u00e4ftig mit. Dort lernte er die d\u00e4nische H\u00e4ndlerkultur kennen, erwarb seine ersten Wasserfarben und schlug den Weg der Kunst ein. Die Sommerausstellung des Museums, die am 17. Juni \u00f6ffnet, besch\u00e4ftigt sich mit vielen Aspekten des Lebens und der Arbeit der Frauen in Eyrarbakki und basiert auf Texten und relevanten Gegenst\u00e4nden. Die Frauen arbeiteten h\u00e4ufig unter der Anleitung ihrer M\u00e4nner. Einige Frauen jedoch schlugen unkonventionelle Wege ein und rebellierten gegen die m\u00e4nnliche Herrschaft, w\u00e4hrend andere Frauen ihre Arbeit schweigend und anstandslos erledigten. Die Ausstellung wirft einen Blick auf ihr Leben in einem kleinen Ort im S\u00fcden Islands.<br \/>\nDie Fahrt dorthin dauert nur 45 Minuten von Reykjav\u00edk oder 15 Minuten von der Ringstra\u00dfe von Selfoss aus. Die Museen in Eyrarbakki sind t\u00e4glich vom 1. Mai bis 30.
