Er wurde 1876 auf dem Bauernhof Su\u00f0urkot in S\u00fcdisland geboren. Von Anfang an war die isl\u00e4ndische Natur \u00c1sgr\u00edmurs Hauptmotiv und sein Werk bildet die Grundlage f\u00fcr die isl\u00e4ndische Landschaftsmalerei.<\/p>\n<p>Es gibt eine Stra\u00dfe namens \u00c1sgr\u00edmurs Weg, die das Leben von \u00c1sgr\u00edmur nachzeichnet und am L\u00c1 Kunstmuseum, am \u00c1rnes Heimatmuseum und am Haus vorbeif\u00fchrt, wo er sp\u00e4ter in Reykjav\u00edk lebte und das zu einem Museum umgewandelt wurde. Das Geschenk, das das Fundament f\u00fcr das Museum bildet, enth\u00e4lt eine Sammlung von Kunstwerken von \u00c1sgr\u00edmur J\u00f3nsson und wird nun anl\u00e4sslich der Jubil\u00e4umssausstellung \u201eCornerstone\u201c gezeigt.<\/p>\n<p>Das \u00c1rness\u00fdsla Heimatmuseum in Eyrarbakki zeigt seine Ausstellung im H\u00fasi\u00f0 (Haus des Kaufmanns) und mehreren umliegenden Geb\u00e4uden. H\u00fasi\u00f0 ist eines der \u00e4ltesten H\u00e4user Island. Es wurde 1765 gebaut und gibt Einblicke in seine Kindheit und Jugend. Das Geb\u00e4ude geh\u00f6rt heute zur Nationalgalerie von Island und ist f\u00fcr die \u00d6ffentlichkeit als <em>Haus eines K\u00fcnstlers<\/em> ge\u00f6ffnet. Es zeigt \u00c1sgr\u00edmurs Leben und Werk. Die Umgebung dieses Elternhauses hat ihn und sein k\u00fcnstlerisches Schaffen stark gepr\u00e4gt. Die F\u00fchrung folgt diesem Weg.<\/p>\n<p>Wir gehen durch Stokkseyri zum Friedhof Gaulverjab\u00e6r, wo \u00c1sgr\u00edmur ruht. Sie k\u00f6nnen ein Monument f\u00fcr den K\u00fcnstler besichtigen, das im Wald von Timburh\u00f3lar steht, nicht weit von seinem Elternhaus. Auch wenn die H\u00e4user in Su\u00f0urkot l\u00e4ngst verschwunden sind, k\u00f6nnen Sie noch \u00c1sgr\u00edms Elfenkirche von der Stra\u00dfe aus sehen. Auf diesem Weg sehen Sie auch den Gebirgszug, der den Jungen gepr\u00e4gt und inspiriert hat.<\/p>\n<p>Mit \u00c1sgr\u00edmurs Weg m\u00f6chten die Museen nicht nur auf das Leben und Werk von \u00c1sgr\u00edmur J\u00f3nsson aufmerksam machen, sondern auch den Jahrestag des Museums feiern. \u00c1sgr\u00edmurs Weg ist eine Geburtstagstrilogie \u00fcber die Menschen in der Gemeinde
