Die Statuen von Ing\u00f3lfur Arnarson auf Arnarh\u00f3ll und von J\u00f3n Forseti in Austurv\u00f6llur sind die Werke von Einar J\u00f3nsson, einem der bedeutendsten K\u00fcnstler des Landes. Er wurde 1874 auf dem Bauernhof Galtafell in Hrunamannahreppur geboren, studierte Bildhauerei und arbeitete von 1886 bis 1920 in Kopenhagen und Rom, bevor er zur\u00fcck nach Hause kehrte. Er baute ein Studio und ein Museum oben auf Sk\u00f3lav\u00f6r\u00f0uholt, mithilfe des Staates und einiger wohlmeinender Menschen. Das Museum \u00f6ffnete vor hundert Jahren als Islands erstes Kunstmuseum. Damals war der H\u00fcgel, auf dem Hallgr\u00edmskirkja und Einar J\u00f3nssons Museum standen, nicht nur der h\u00f6chste Punkt in der Stadt. Auch Reykjav\u00edks M\u00fclldeponie befand sich dort. Er nannte sein einzigartiges Haus Hnitbj\u00f6rg, das nun ein Museum ist. Nat\u00fcrlich wurde das hundertj\u00e4hrige Bestehen heute geb\u00fchrend gefeiert.<\/p>\n<div>\n<figure id=\"attachment_223575\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-223575\" style=\"width:
