Die isl\u00e4ndische Strassenmeisterei k\u00fcndigte an, dass es wetterbedingt zu Unterbrechungen im R\u00e4umdienst kommen kann, berichtet mbl.is<\/a>. Die Ringstrasse im Westen ist nach Norden hin jetzt schon in Teilen kaum noch befahrbar.<\/p>\n

Gegen Mittag soll sich das Sturmtief nach S\u00fcden wenden. Dort muss auf den Bergp\u00e4ssen zwischen Reykjav\u00edk und dem S\u00fcdland, Hellishei\u00f0i, \u00derengsli und Sandskei\u00f0, mit Schnee und Gl\u00e4tte gerechnet werden. Die Lyngdalshei\u00f0i in Richtung \u00deingvellir ist nur mit schweren Jeeps befahrbar.<\/p>\n

Im Norden der Insel wird der Verkehr auf allen Hauptstrassen durch Schnee und Eis behindert, in den Westfjorden sind die Bergstrassen unbefahrbar. Auch im Osten der Insel behindert Eisgl\u00e4tte den Verkehr.<\/p>\n

Sturmb\u00f6en k\u00f6nnen in Island Fahrzeuge von der Strasse dr\u00fccken. Gef\u00e4hrlich sind besonders Bergh\u00e4nge. Manche H\u00e4nge wie der Hafnarfjall, Kjalarnes oder Reynisfjall, werden bei Sturm aus Sicherheitsgr\u00fcnden gesperrt. Wenn Sie in Schwierigkeiten geraten, bleiben Sie unbedingt im Fahrzeug und rufen Sie die Notrufnummer 112. Die isl\u00e4ndische Bergrettungsorganisation Landsbj\u00f6rg, deren Mitglieder Freiwilligendienst leisten, sind f\u00fcr Bergung von Verunfallten zust\u00e4ndig. Rechnen Sie jedoch damit, dass Sie Ihr Fahrzeug zur\u00fccklassen m\u00fcssen, da Landsbj\u00f6rg keinen Abschleppdienst leistet.<\/p>\n
