Traditioneller <em>brenniv\u00edn<\/em> wird zur Geschmacksanreicherung mit K\u00fcmmel versetzt und enth\u00e4lt 37,5% Alkohol.<\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"is-IS\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><em>Brenniv\u00edn<\/em> wurde zum ersten Mal im Jahr 1935 durch die staatliche Alkoholgesellschaft ATVR gebrannt, nachdem von 1920 bis 1935 in Island eine Prohibitionsphase geherrscht hatte.<\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"is-IS\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Die erste Erleichterung dieses Alkohlverbotes war die Zulassung von alkoholreduziertem Wein (Spanierwein), der zweite Schritt das Vermarkten des Brenniv\u00edn, der fr\u00fcher eher in Wasser oder Cola gemischt getrunken wurde, heute eher als Schnaps (snaps). Bier wurde erst im Jahr 1989 wieder zugelassen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"is-IS\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">80 Jahre lang hatte die gr\u00fcne <em>brenniv\u00edn<\/em>-Flasche ein charakteristisches schwarzes Etikett getragen, welches gef\u00e4hrlich wirken und den Kunden vom Kauf abhalten sollte. Doch <em>svarti dau\u00f0an<\/em>, der Schwarze Tod, wie der <em>brenniv\u00edn<\/em> liebevoll genannt wurde, hielt wohl die wenigsten vom Trinken ab.<\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"is-IS\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Im vergangenen Jahr erhielt die Flasche ein <a href=\"https:\/\/menn.is\/brennivin-breytir-um-utlit-ekki-lengur-graent\/\">facelifting<\/a>: sie ist nun durchsichtig und das schwarze Etikett wurde von Designer Hjalti Karlsson vorsichtig umgestaltet. Produziert wird das Getr\u00e4nk von der Brauerei \u00d6lger\u00f0in.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p lang=\"is-IS\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Wer sich die Zeit nimmt und im Alkohlladen Einkaufswagen studiert, wird feststellen, dass <em>brenniv\u00edn<\/em> nicht wirklich ein Volksgetr\u00e4nk ist wie gerne behauptet wird, sondern viel eher ein Mythos, der gut zu Wikingergeschichten und Naturburschen passt. In Wohnzimmern, Konzerten und Kneipen findet man alles m\u00f6gliche, aber keinen schwarzen Tod.
