Jahrestags des Landesmuseums werden erstmalig die wertvollen Sch\u00e4tze der isl\u00e4ndischen Kunstgeschichte, alle 15 verbleibenden Refil-Wandteppiche, in der Ausstellung \u201eKreative H\u00e4nde\u201c gezeigt. Die \u00e4ltesten Ausstellungsst\u00fccke r\u00fchren aus der Zeit kurz vor 1400, das neueste ist fast 300 Jahre j\u00fcnger und stammt von 1677. Neun werden im Landesmuseum aufbewahrt, die anderen sind Leihgaben des Louvre in Paris, des Nationalmuseet in Kopenhagen und des Rijksmuseum Twenthe im niederl\u00e4ndischen Enschede. Wie es im Ausstellungskatalog hei\u00dft, ist das Refil-N\u00e4hen eine Technik, deren Namen vom Wort \u201eauff\u00fcllen\u201c r\u00fchrt. Refils waren dekorative Teppiche aus Wolle oder Leinen, mit denen fr\u00fcher die Innenr\u00e4ume von Kirchen und Wohnh\u00e4usern verziert wurden. Die Refil-Naht, eine Variation der Plattstickerei, ist nur einer der Zierstiche, die im Mittelalter verwendet wurden. Diese Meisterwerke der mittelalterlichen isl\u00e4ndischen Kunst wurden von fingerfertigen Frauen mit viel Wissen und Erfahrung im Weben und Sticken hergestellt. Die Ausstellung ist das Ergebnis jahrzehntelanger Forschung zu Nadelarbeiten, die Elsa E. Gu\u00f0j\u00f3nsson (1924-2010) durchgef\u00fchrt hat. Elsa arbeitete mehr als drei Jahrzehnte am Landesmuseum von Island. Anl\u00e4sslich der Ausstellung wird ihr gro\u00dfartiges 400-Seiten-Buch,\u00a0<em>Me\u00f0 verkum handanna<\/em>, ver\u00f6ffentlicht.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_236127\"
