Das Feuerwerk wird jedes Jahr Ende August um halb elf in der Nacht \u00fcber dem Eis in den Nachthimmel geschossen. Sie bedeckt eine Fl\u00e4che von 24 Quadratkilometern und k\u00f6nnte Heimaey, die bewohnte Westm\u00e4nnerinsel, einfach verschlucken. In den 250 Metern Tiefe h\u00e4tten vier schiefe T\u00fcrme von Pisa aufeinander gestapelt Platz, und es g\u00e4be noch Raum f\u00fcr mehr.<\/p>\n<p>Ebbe und Flut schicken unabl\u00e4ssig Meereswasser in die Lagune, haben Hering, Lachs und Krabben mit im Gep\u00e4ck.
