Der Kleifarvatn auf der Halbinsel Reykjanes liegt nur einen Katzensprung von der Hauptstadt entfernt. In nur etwa einer halben Stunde Fahrtzeit erreicht man von der Innenstadt Reykjav\u00edks aus eine fast magische Welt am Kleifarvatn.Mit 10 km\u00b2 ist er der gr\u00f6\u00dfte See auf Reykjanes und der 19. gr\u00f6\u00dfte sowie der dritttiefste See Islands. Es gibt keine Zu- oder Abfl\u00fcsse zum Kleifarvatn, und der Wasserstand kann um bis zu vier Meter schwanken, da der por\u00f6se Boden im und um den See auf der Kr\u00edsuv\u00edk-Vulkanzone liegt \u2013 einem von sechs Vulkang\u00fcrteln auf der Halbinsel Reykjanes.Am S\u00fcdufer des Sees befindet sich ein Geothermalgebiet, und viele Besucher zieht es nach Seltun, dem Thermalquellengebiet s\u00fcdlich des Kleifarvatn. <\/p>\n\n
