Ici, vous pouvez pique-niquer, randonner jusqu&rsquo;au sommet des chutes ou simplement marcher en for\u00eat, dans cet endroit paisible, au milieu d\u00b4arbres parmi les plus hauts d&rsquo;Islande. Le village \u00e9tait le site d&rsquo;un couvent de religieuses b\u00e9n\u00e9dictines de 1186 \u00e0 1550 et \u00e0 la fois l&rsquo;abbaye de Kirkjub\u00e6jar, la cascade et le lac (Systravatn) au-dessus du village ont \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9s apr\u00e8s cette abbaye.
