L\u00b4objectif est d&rsquo;\u00e9valuer le nombre de baleines et de savoir si celui-ci a tendance \u00e0 cro\u00eetre. Cela n\u00b4a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 fait depuis 8 ans.<\/p>\n<p>Les nations qui effectuent la recherche comprennent notamment l&rsquo;Islande, les \u00eeles F\u00e9ro\u00e9, la Norv\u00e8ge et le Groenland mais elle est organis\u00e9e par la Commission des Mammif\u00e8res Marins de l&rsquo;Atlantique Nord, la NAMMCO. (North Atlantic Marine Mammal Commission). L&rsquo;Institut de recherche marine islandais a obtenu un cr\u00e9dit sp\u00e9cial de 150 millions de couronnes du gouvernement (soit 1 million d\u00b4Euros) pour mener \u00e0 bien ce projet. Le comptage aura lieu en Juin et Juillet avec le navire de recherche <em>Bjarni<\/em><em> S\u00e6mundsson<\/em> ainsi qu\u00b4un cargo.<\/p>\n<p>J\u00f3hann Sigurj\u00f3nsson, directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de l&rsquo;Institut de recherche marine islandais, indique qu&rsquo;il est important que le comptage soit fait r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement. \u00abNous avons insist\u00e9 pour que le comptage ait lieu cette ann\u00e9e, mais si plus de temps passe, alors le conseil de la chasse sera plus prudent. Mais ce sont des cr\u00e9atures qui vieillissent lentement donc il n&rsquo;y aura pas de changements drastiques d\u00b4une ann\u00e9e sur l\u00b4autre. C\u00b4est pourquoi, il est suffisant de faire ce comptage tous les 5-7 ans\u00a0\u00bb, rapporte-il \u00e0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visir.is\/whales-will-be-counted-this-summer\/article\/2015150219461\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Visir<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Le comptage \u00e0 dimension internationale a d\u00e9but\u00e9 dans le Grand Nord en 1986. Depuis lors, quatre comptages ont \u00e9t\u00e9 effectu\u00e9s\u00a0: en 1989, en 1995, en 2001 et enfin en 2007, et en 2009, un comptage de rorquals a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9 par avion.
