L\u00b4Islande quitte la table des n\u00e9gociations<\/h3>\n

Monsieur Gunnar Bragi Sveinsson, le ministre islandais des Affaires \u00c9trang\u00e8res vient d\u00b4annoncer que l\u00b4Islande met fin au processus de n\u00e9gociation d\u00b4adh\u00e9sion \u00e0 l\u00b4UE.<\/p>\n

Le gouvernement islandais estime donc que l’Islande n\u00b4est plus un pays candidat et demande \u00e0 l’UE d’agir d\u00e9sormais en cons\u00e9quence, comme indiqu\u00e9 dans un communiqu\u00e9 du minist\u00e8re envoy\u00e9 \u00e0 la presse en milieu de semaine.<\/p>\n

De nombreux Islandais, y compris des d\u00e9put\u00e9s, ont exprim\u00e9 leur surprise et leur indignation \u00e0 la suite de cette annonce. En effet, cette d\u00e9cision n\u00b4a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 discut\u00e9e par le comit\u00e9 des affaires \u00e9trang\u00e8res du Parlement, indique le journal Morgunbla\u00f0i\u00f0<\/a>.<\/p>\n

L\u00b4Union Europ\u00e9enne est actuellement pr\u00e9sid\u00e9e par la Lettonie. Le ministre islandais Gunnar Bragi a fait cette annonce lors d’une r\u00e9union avec son homologue letton Edgars Rinkevics, tout en remettant en parall\u00e8le, une lettre informant la Pr\u00e9sidence et la Commission de la position de l\u00b4Islande.<\/p>\n

Le ministre des Affaires \u00e9trang\u00e8res a toutefois exprim\u00e9 son d\u00e9sir de renforcer la coop\u00e9ration entre l’Islande et l’UE. Dans un communiqu\u00e9 de presse, le pr\u00e9sident de l\u00b4UE indique qu\u00b4il respecte la conclusion de l\u00b4Islande. La d\u00e9cision de l’Islande d’adresser une lettre \u00e0 la pr\u00e9sidence de l’UE fait suite \u00e0 de nombreuses communications entre le gouvernement islandais et l’Union Europ\u00e9enne au cours de ces derni\u00e8res semaines, indique le communiqu\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Cela ne veut pas dire que les Islandais soient favorables \u00e0 l\u00b4entr\u00e9e de leur pays dans l\u00b4UE. Selon un sondage MMR, r\u00e9alis\u00e9 en Janvier, 33,3% des islandais souhaitent que l\u00b4Islande entre dans l\u00b4UE, contre 48,5% contre. Ces r\u00e9sultats sont similaires au sondage r\u00e9alis\u00e9 il y a un an (32,3% pour et 50% contre).<\/p>\n

Les Islandais ne sont pas d\u00b4accord avec cette d\u00e9cision unilat\u00e9rale du gouvernement. Ils avaient exprim\u00e9 au printemps dernier, lors de manifestations, leur souhait que l\u00b4entr\u00e9e dans l\u00b4UE soit d\u00e9cid\u00e9e par les islandais eux-m\u00eames par r\u00e9f\u00e9rendum.<\/p>\n

Cette d\u00e9claration jeudi a entrain\u00e9 une manifestation face au Parlement, sur la place Austurv\u00f6llur.<\/p>\n
