La r\u00e9gion rev\u00eat un tout autre manteau l\u00b4hiver. Vous pouvez alors monter \u00e0 cheval sur les lacs gel\u00e9s de M\u00fdvatn, sous les aurores bor\u00e9ales ou encore skier \u00e0 Akureyri, la station ne se trouve qu\u00b4\u00e0 quelques minutes du centre-ville. Le Nord de l\u2019Islande est probablement la r\u00e9gion la plus diversifi\u00e9e \u00e0 tous niveaux. Vous pouvez y d\u00e9couvrir, pour n\u00b4en citer que quelques-uns, des sites tels que la zone g\u00e9othermale de Myvatn, les grands espaces accueillant les oiseaux migrateurs,<\/p>\n<p>l\u2019 impressionnant canyon en forme de fer \u00e0 cheval d\u00b4\u00c1sbyrgi, les cascades de Go\u00f0afoss et Dettifoss, les volcans et caldeira de l\u00b4Askja, ainsi que plusieurs \u00eeles comme celles de Drangey et Gr\u00edmsey. La r\u00e9gion regorge de sites historiques qui n\u00b4attendant qu\u00b4\u00e0 \u00eatre d\u00e9couverts. Vous trouvez des mus\u00e9es dans presque toutes les villes de la r\u00e9gion, parmi eux le mus\u00e9e du phoque \u00e0 Hvammstangi, le mus\u00e9e de la baleine \u00e0 Husavik ou encore la ferme de Glaub\u00e6r, maisons traditionnelles en tourbe de Skagafj\u00f6r\u00f0ur. D\u00b4autre part, Skagastr\u00f6nd, qui abrite le mus\u00e9e des Proph\u00e9ties, est connue pour \u00eatre la capitale de la musique country islandaise. Dans la vall\u00e9e de Hjaltadal dans le fjord de Skagafj\u00f6r\u00f0ur se situe H\u00f3lar, qui fut autrefois le si\u00e8ge \u00e9piscopal. La ville de Siglufj\u00f6r\u00f0ur accueille le mus\u00e9e de la musique folk et celui du hareng.
