Straumhvörf urðu í rekstrinum þegar Sólskógar keyptu gróðrarstöðina í Kjarnaskógi á Akureyri, en þar hefur verið rekin gróðrarstöð síðan árið 1947. Sólskógar eiga einnig gróðurhús á Hjallaleyru 1 Reyðarfirði.
