Enda er Snæfellsbær vestast á Snæfellsnesi, með sína 1.700 íbúa, með einstaklega sérstaka náttúru, og heilan þjóðgarð, Snæfellsjökulsþjóðgarð í sveitarfélaginu. Á síðasta ári sóttu þjóðgarðinn heim, rúmlega hálf milljón ferðalanga.
