The propeller shield

The propeller shield
On the corner of Geirsgata and Tryggvagata, at the southern end of Reykjavík Harbor in the center of Reykjavík, there is a fun monument or work of art, Skrúfuhringur. But from the corner of the street you can see Slippurinn, which has been by the Reykjavík Harbor since 1902. This beautiful propeller ring was made by Stálsmiðjan, but these rings protect the ship’s propeller from collisions. This intersection is very busy, especially with pedestrians on their way from the city center to Grandi, where many museums and exhibitions are located. Some people just go down to the harbor to eat, but there are many restaurants in the area. But others go to see the ships or go on whale watching or Northern Lights tours from the heart of Reykjavík, Reykjavík Harbor.
