Just before 10pm on the 18th of December a big eruption started just north of the town Grindavík, near Svartsengi the Power plant, and Blue Lagoon, which opened today and closed at nine. Grindavík is town of 4500 people on the South coast of Reykjanes, located between Reykjavik and Keflavik International Airport.
