Roughly one tenth of road nr.1 runs through the two Húnavatn counties (Húnavatnssýslur). Some people find this the most unexciting part of the ring road. Totally disagree. The two counties at Húnaflói in the north-west have great natural beauty and history, and have two of the three things in Iceland that are uncountable. The hills in Vatnsdalur and the lakes on Arnarvatnsheiði. The third uncountable things are the islands in Breiðafjörður. But there are many natural wonders in Húnavatnssýslur, such as Hvítserkur at Vatnes, the stilt rock in Kálfshamarsvík, the beautiful form of Spákonufell and Kolugljúfur in Víðidalur. Icelandic Times / Land & Saga passed by and enjoyed the nature and the light… here is the result.
