The house was built in 1913, is made of timber and ironclad on the exterior and has been kept that way ever since. It was build as an accommodation and has ever since then been used as such for travelers coming to Vík. Which makes it the oldest consecutive accommodation in Iceland.
In this respect we want our guests to remember that this house is over
100 years old and therefore you can expect a few things you will find in old houses; like creaking floors, old interior and no sound-proof rooms.
It has a fully furnished communal kitchen, a large dining hall and a lounge. Free Wi-Fi and parking is available for all our guests.Supermarket, bank with ATM, Tourist Information Center and the swimming pool is within walking distance. Our location offers excellent opportunities for hiking, snowmobiling, glacier tours, horse riding and bird watching. During winter time, stunning displays of Northern Lights can be seen in the area.
Sleeping bag accommodation is not offered.
