Downtown Reykjavík has changed a lot in recent years. Especially in Kvosin, but in 2015 construction on Hafnartorg began. Before that, from Lækjartorg to Harpa, there were only parking lots and sheds. There are buildings with almost 80 expensive apartments, hotels, shops and a food hall. The editorial office of the biggest newspaper in the country, the headquarters of Landsbankinn bank (which will open in December) and, of course, the hot dog cart that has been there for as long as the oldest people can remember.
It’s all modern and reasonably beautiful. Of course, Icelandic Times went on a field trip to capture the atmosphere and give readers a glimpse of the rain in Reykjavík today and tomorrow and the day after.
