Probably no mountain in Iceland has been photographed as much in recent years as Kirkjufell in Grundarfjörður, as it is exceptionally beautiful. Grundarfjörður is one of the three municipalities on Snæfellsnes, and sits in the middle between Snæfellsnesbær in the west and Stykkishólmur a little further east. Grundarfjörður, which has almost 900 inhabitants, is where most tourists go to on Snæfellsnes. Not only because Kirkjufell is easy to get to by land, but also because Grundarfjörður has a port that welcomes large cruise ships. The only port from Reykjavík, west and north up to Ísafjörður that can attract these ships, and has facilities to receive ships that have thousands of passengers. Icelandic Times / Land & Saga went travelling and welcomed summer, and the light in Grundarfjörður. After all, the place is charming.
