Culture Night Scenes

Culture Night is the anniversary and cultural festival of Reykjavík city, held annually for almost thirty years, on the Saturday closest to August 18th, the capital city’s anniversary. The festival is the highlight of the summer, with hundreds of events and one hundred thousand people making their way to downtown Reykjavík. Icelandic Times, of course, went into the city to celebrate with tourists and locals who enjoyed the cool, pleasant weather. They listened to the best musicians and visited museums, gallery halls, and bars that stayed open late into the evening. Culture Night always concludes with an impressive fireworks display at 11:00 PM and this year did not disappoint. See you next year!
