When you’re raised in, live, and work in the capital, do you stop seeing and noticing your immediate surroundings? Do you need to put on special glasses to experience Reykjavík, notice the buildings, and feel the changes happening slowly, or quickly, or not at all? It can be helpful to pick up a camera and play tourist, visiting a new place. Because Reykjavík is fun, unique, and never ceases to surprise. That’s what Icelandic Times did, because this time of year—autumn—is both the hardest and the most enjoyable time of the year to photograph, as the light is so harsh. This creates images, images that are… different, of our capital city, Reykjavík.
