Rask is the title of the exhibition by photographer Agnieszka Sosnowska and poet Ingunn Snædal, where these eastern artists, one from Jökuldalur, the other originally from Warsaw, Poland, now an Icelander and an East Fjords resident for most of this century, ask: “What happened here, and how does one control the uncontrollable?” The exhibition is at the Reykjavík Museum of Photography, Grófarhús, and is so captivating in its black-and-white presentation that it assumes colour. Both were born in the year of our Lord 1971, are fond of the present, and reflective about the future. The photographs are an intimate, abundant conversation with the land… and the people who live there.
