Hot & Cold

Globally, the year 2024 was the warmest year on record. However, the opposite was true here in Iceland, where it was the coldest year of the century. The annual average temperature in Iceland was 3.4°C, which is about 1°C colder than the average of the past ten years. The last ten years have been the warmest in Earth’s history, with 2024 being the hottest since humans first began to leave their mark on the planet. The average global temperature is now 1.54°C higher than it was before the Industrial Revolution.
