Will Iceland be the 51st US State

Later today, April 1st; Alþingi, the Icelandic parliament, the world oldest, will vote if Iceland will be part of U.S., as the 51st state. Iceland will be the least populated US state, with 150 thousand fewer people than the state og Wyoming. It’s planed that the President, Halla Tómasdóttir, and the Prime Minister Kristrún Frostadóttir, will take seats in United States Senate. Former Prime Minister Bjarni Benediktsson will take the only seat in the United States House of Representatives. If the parliament say yes, Iceland will be part of United States, from June 17th 2024. Both political parties in the United States, are very positive to the proposal. In Iceland, it’s more controversial, about half of the population, love the independence, the other half, believe that be part of United States, will secure the future, both economically and if a war will broke out in this part of the world, the high North.
