Dalvík’s Kondó Bar & Grill

kondobar_dalvik_icelandThe Right Ingredients for a Good Time

While in Dalvík, be sure to check out the Kondó Bar & Grill located just by the harbour, where colourful fishing boats lay at anchor. By day, the laid back, unfussy atmosphere is a great place to bring the kids for an irresistibly tasty home-made pizza, especially the chicken pizza – a local favourite. A variety of freshly-made pizzas and fish & chips made with arctic char caught straight from the fjord are a specialty. When the weather is fine, as it often is around Eyjafjörður, you are welcome to take your meal to the outside seating area where you can relax and enjoy the view over the fjord.

By night, Kondó’s bar scene comes alive and you can get a taste of the cosy bar scene and mingle with the locals. For a perfect finish to your day of adventure, savour the long-lingering summer sun as it dips beyond the mountains, skimming the northern horizon at the far end of the fjord.

kondobar_dalvikKondó’s most popular beer? Many locals prefer Boli, a premium lager named after one of the four guardian spirits of Iceland. Icelandic schnapps, craft beers or your favourite imported wines and spirits are also available.

Kond-BarKondó Bar & Grill’s ambitious new owner, Stéfan, is keen to make this an exciting upbeat addition to Dalvík’s growing list of amenities and it’s sure to be a hit this summer.
