October was cold throughout the country, as indeed was the entire year. The average temperature in Reykjavik was 3.3°C, which is 2.2°C below the average of the last ten years. In populated areas, the highest temperature of the month was recorded in Skaftafell at 14.2°C on the 18th, while the lowest temperature was measured in Mödrudalur at -19.1°C on the 13th of October. The average temperature for the first ten months of the year in Reykjavik is far below average, according to data from the Icelandic Meteorological Office. However, although both the year and last month have been cold, the autumn light and the colours bring joy to people when autumn and winter blend together at this time of year. Icelandic Times took a photography tour around Reykjavik to bring you the light and autumn colours in the capital.
