The Christmas Village

Hafnarfjörður, the third largest town in the country, is probably the biggest Christmas town in Iceland, and has been for years. At Thorsplan in the city center there is a ice skating rink as well as a whole Christmas village, the whole center is beautifully decorated. Hellisgerði, an outdoor paradise right next to the city center is decorated with lights, as is half the town. Hafnarfjörður is a true Christmas town. For the young and the old. Icelandic Times of course made a trip to Hafnarfjörður, like so many people from the capital area to experience light in the dark.
