Many people were visiting the new centre of Selfoss, which formally opened a few days ago, when the Icelandic Times was there yesterday. The first phase is complete, Brúargatan and the reconstruction of MjólkurbúiFlóamanna, designed by Guðjón Samúelsson and built in 1929, but was later leveled. Now this beautiful building is resurrected. It now houses an elegant dining hall with eight restaurants. The other houses that have been built are in fact rebuilt houses that once stood in Iceland but either burned down or were demolished. The project is expected to be completed in three years, and the total cost is estimated at ISK 11 billion.
