Hreðavatnsskáli (Hotel & Restaurant Grábrók) is situated at the ring road 1 in a valley called Norðurárdalur. The roadhouse, accommodation and bar belong to the Icelandic history since the founding year 1933. Almost all travelers stopped at the Restaurant & Hotel for a quick bite or even to stay for many days.
In early 2013 new owners renovated the buildings. They decided to stick to the original design and respect the history of this marvelous place.
The restaurant opens every evening during the summer season. It offers a variety of Icelandic specialties. The Swiss-Icelandic kitchen team offers a gourmet menu with products of the season, meats, fish and seafood of the finest quality, combining flavors, colors and textures to surprise and delight the most discerning diners.
During the day our Grábrók Market offers the traditional Icelandic hot dog, pizza and much more. The market includes fresh products from the nearby farmers, fruits, bread, homemade sandwiches and the basic needs of all travelers.
Accommodation offered in new rooms with private and shared facilities. Families or parties that desire to stay for weeks have enjoyed our summerhouses. The camping ground suits both travelers in tents and motor homes.
