Portfolio Review at the
Icelandic Photography Festival January 14 – 16, 2016
Location: Reykjavík Maritime Museum Friday January 15, from 9:00 – 16:00 (9 am- 4 pm) Saturday January 16, from 9:00 – 12:00 (9 am – 12 noon) Portfolio review will be held at the Icelandic Photography Festival on January 15th and 16th 2016. This time it will be located at the Reykjavík Maritime Museum, Grandagardur 8.
Portfolio review is a meeting, lasting 20 minutes, where a photographer brings his photos, either on paper or electronically and shows the reviewer in question. Along with Icelandic photography specialists, respected foreign reviewers, both museum and gallery curators or editors of photographic journals, will give Icelandic photographers guidance regarding their work.See here the list of reviewers.
For the third time, a grant will be awarded from The Magnús Ólafsson (1862-1937) Memorial Fund.
The Memorial Fund is one of its kind in Iceland and has the aim to promote photography in Iceland as an art form. The jury, consisting of a group of foreign and domestic specialists, will choose the best photographer, e.g. the one who receives the most votes will receive the grant, which amount is 400,000 ISK. The award ceremony will take place on Saturday January 16 at 12:30 (12:30 pm). By registering (name, address and „kennitala“) through the email: [email protected] and paying the participation fee of 17,500 ISK one‘s application is automatically received.
