Where is the most beautiful midnight sun?
Of course, in the northernmost municipality of Iceland, Norðurþing. 3030 people live in this municipality, extending from Húsavík in the west and east to Raufarhöfn. But there is more to see there than the midnight sun; there are natural gems like Ásbyrgi, and Dettifoss the most powerful waterfall in Europe. Melrakkaslétta with all its birdlife and, of course, the whales in Skjálfandaflói. Húsavík, the capital of the municipality, is the centre of whale watching in Iceland. The photo is taken over Sandá River, north of Öxarfjarðarnúpur, shortly before midnight at the end of June.
