aurora photos on display

Auroras was formed by Northern Light enthusiasts. The company aims to offer leisure activities centered around the Northern Lights by:

  • Putting on Northern Lights displays and exhibitions
  • Education
  • Northern Lights tours
  • Nature trips

A Dance With the Mountains, the exhibition of Northern Lights photos, opened in Wathne’s House in May 2016. All the photos are shot in Fáskrúðsfjörður where a majestic circle of mountains surrounds the fjord and makes the Northern Lights experience unique.

The photographers Jóhanna Kristín Hauksdóttir and Jónína G. Óskarsdóttir were born and raised in Fáskrúðsfjörður, where the mountain ranges give shelter to inhabitants and guests, beautiful Northern Lights dancing across the sky are a common sight. They have been there through the millennium. When Jóhanna and Jónína were little girls lying in the snow, they looked mesmerised into the sky at the Northern Lights. Their photographs give everyone a chance to share that feeling with them.
