Hafaldan HI hostel in Seyðisfjörður offers great value accommodation in two historical buildings in
Seydisfjordur; Hafaldan old Hospital and Hafaldan Harbour. In June 2015 it was rated the best HI hostel
worldwide and we keep on doing our very best to make our visitors feel welcomed in the spectacular town
in the east.
Seyðisfjörður is a perfect destination for those who love the outdoors with beautiful natural setting that
allows for some great activities such as hiking, sea angling and kayaking. Art lovers can visit the Center of
Visual Arts Skaftfell and excellent restaurants/cafés can be found in the picturesque town where the locals
strive to offer an authentic experience to its visitors.
Hafaldan old Hospital Hostel is located in central Seyðisfjörður in the historic former hospital building. The
building has recently been renovated to better meet the needs of our guests. Hafaldan Harbour Hostel was
established in 1975 and is nestled on the north side of the Seyðisfjörður fjord with amazing fjord view. In
both buildings we offer great common facilities; kitchen, washing machine and free WiFi.
Reception service
for both hostels is in the old Hospital building during summer.
