Hotel Lækur

Hótel Lækur is a small and cosy family-run country hotel in a renovated old barn. The hotel is located only 100 km from Reykjavik and 10 km from the ring road, in the heart of South Iceland.

Accommodation is in 21 bright and modern rooms with private facilities. Family rooms are available. There is a restaurant seating up to 70 people and a lounge area with breathtaking mountain views.

Hotel Lækur is ideally located for sightseeing around South Iceland and provides easy access to attractions such as the ‘Golden Circle’ (Geysir, Gullfoss and Þingvellir National Park), Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls, Þórsmörk, Landmannalaugar in the interior, the Westman Islands (from Landeyjahöfn harbour), Hekla volcano and Eyjafjallajökull volcano.

Hótel Lækur is a good location for viewing the northern lights due to the lack of light pollution.
