The Old Stable

Inspired by the long history of the farm, a horse stable and a storage room were built in 2015. The two gabled houses combine turf, stones and wood, and they are masterpieces of traditional, even if nowadays very rare, Icelandic craftsmanship. We want to tell visitors how horses were kept on farms in the old days, and we have a display featuring old tools, tack and other items connected with horses and farming.
Opening time
The stable is open daily from May to September, other times of year on request. Entrance fee for adults, free entry for children under 12.
Horses&Heritage
Step inside the OLD STABLE and make even more of our popular presentation of Horses & Heritage! The program runs every Tuesday evening in the summer, on request all year round for groups and as a guided day tour from Akureyri, see www.ttv.is
Please contact for prices and booking information.
