Summer morning in Mjóifjörður

There are few places in Iceland where the tranquillity is as tangible as in Mjóifjörður. In the heart of this beautiful fjord, which some say is the most beautiful of the Eastfjords, are Kilfbrekkufossar waterfalls. It’s only possible to access Mjóifjörður, which lies between Seyðisfjörður and Norðfjörður, for 6 months of the year (June-December). For the other 6 months of the year, you can only access the fjord by the boat Björgvin, which sails from Neskaupsstaður twice a week. About 10 people live in the fjord all year round. But there are few places in Iceland that top Mjófjörður in beauty or tranquillity.
