Garðurinn & tíminn // Kristbergur Ó. Pétursson & Oddrún Pétursdóttir 17.-27. ágúst 2023
“On the occasion of the hundredth anniversary of Hellisgerði, Hafnarfjörður’s public park, we siblings, Kristbergur Pétursson and Oddrún Pétursdóttir hold an art exhibition in Litla Gallerý, Strandgata 19 in Hafnarfjörður. We also want to commemorate our paternal grandmother, Guðmundína Oddrún Oddsdóttir, who lived in the park from 1950 to 1980. She lived in the small house known today as Litla Álfabúðin, or The little elf Café. We were always welcome at our grandmother’s home in Hellisgerði and we used to sit by the living room window with paper and colors and various children’s crafts while grandma baked pancakes, hummed funny verses and told stories from her childhood. The garden was wondrous and delightful in all seasons. In summer’s floral display and flocks of visitors, in the beauty of autumn colors, below the twinkling stars in the silence of winter until spring awakened new life.”
The works are all made especially for this exhibition.
