The Children’s Day on Viðey Island

The annual Children’s Day will be held on Viðey Island on Sunday, July 2nd, from 13:00 – 16:00. With its beautiful meadow, Viðey is an ideal place for children to play and the perfect place to host an event dedicated to children and their families.
The Icelandic Circus will be around to entertain children with their circus acts while the hula-hoop lady will be teaching everyone the tricks of the trade. There will also be family yoga sessions with Arnbjörg Kristín, seaside fun with buckets and spades and plenty of outdoor games. Kids can also have a go at popping corn over the open fire.
Hot dogs will be on sale at Viðey House all day and guests can also indulge in some complimentary ice-cream, while stocks last.
The programme of events runs from 13:00-16:00 and the ferry service from Skarfabakki Harbour will be operating according to the schedule or as necessary.
Note that long queues may form for the ferry service so make sure to get there early so as not to miss the first events of the day. Tickets for the ferry can be bought the day before at the Elding ferry service ticket desk.
