Looking back

As the year draws to a close, it has been, in many respects, a truly positive one for Iceland. Blessed with favorable weather throughout, the nation experienced no major crises or unsettling events that tested our collective resilience. In essence, it was a year that passed smoothly, free from significant challenges or disruptions.
Looking back on the efforts of the Icelandic Times team to capture the essence of the present—our vibrant culture, stunning landscapes, resilient people, and evolving society—a wealth of memorable moments comes to mind. To mark this reflective time, we invite you to revisit some of the evocative images featured in our January and February editions, offering a glimpse into the quiet beauty and everyday stories that defined the early months of the year.
Of course, selecting the very best images is no easy task, but these seven photographs are the ones that bring me the greatest joy—from the nearly four hundred that graced the pages of our magazine during the first two months of the year.
