Einar Jónsson Sculpture Museum
Hildur Henrýsdóttir – Hamskipti
7. October 2023 – 2. January 2024
In Hamskipti, Hildur Henrýsdóttir is presenting a new series of works, which mark the final part of her autobiographical exhibition trilogy. After enduring the growing pains and turbulence of the two previous chapters in Skin (2019, Mosfellsbær) and Chrysalis (2022, Berlin), Henrýsdóttir is evolving and entering a complacent and untroubled era. Her new solo exhibition is an unapologetic self-portrait, where the Berlin-based artist finds solace in feminine symbolism and Greek mythology, after exposing innumerable vulnerabilities to the public.
Hamskipti is part of a series of exhibitons put up in the anniversary year, named “Time, existence & dedication: metamorphosis in the Einar Jónssons Sculpture Museum 2023”. The exhibition series aim is to open the museum up for a visual conversation about its purpose. Working artists are invited to exhibit in the museum space in and around Einar Jónsson’s sculptures.
