Soffía Sæmundsdóttir

Soffía Sæmundsdóttir has worked as an artist for the past few decades. She graduated from the Graphics Department of the Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts in 1991, as participated in many collaborative exhibitions and set up her own private exhibitions, both here and abroad and won numerous awards and honors for her work. She graduated with an MFA degree in painting from Mills College in California in 2003 and got her teacher’s permit from the Icelandic Academy of the Arts in 2010. Soffía has also been an active participant in various artists’ organizations and among other things served as the chairperson of the Icelandic Print makers Association from 2011-15. She has also taught art for a long time and facilitated many arts seminars through the years
